Shenzhen China – September 23, 2021 - Fibocom (Stock Code: 300638), a global leading provider of IoT (Internet of Things) wireless solutions and wireless communication modules, announces the availability of engineering samples of FM160-NA. The high-value 5G Sub-6 module FM160-NA features 3GPP Release 16 standard capabilities, providing better 5G network experience for mass data scenarios such as IIoT, C-V2X, HD live streaming, telemedicine, etc.
Powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon® X62 modem chipset, Fibocom’s FM160-NA is a 5G Sub-6 module backward compatible with LTE-TDD, LTE-FDD and WCDMA network standards, eliminating customers' investment concerns at the initial stage of 5G construction. The module supports NR CA, delivering maximum downlink rates of 3.5Gbps and uplink rates of 900Mbps under 5G, ideally suitable for IoT applications that require high data throughput. The Fibocom FM160-NA module adopts M.2 form factor measuring 30x52x2.3mm, which is compatible with Fibocom’s 5G module FM150.
Along with abundant functionalities such as digital audio, VoLTE and VoNR, the Fibocom FM160-NA module supports multi-constellation GNSS receiver, including GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou and Galileo, which provides high-performance positioning and navigation while greatly simplifies product design. Meanwhile, it supports multiple operating systems (Linux/ Android/ Windows), various Internet protocols as well as industry-standarda interfaces (USIM, USB 3.1/3.0/2.0, PCIe 4.0 and I2S), allowing much flexibility and ease of integration for customer's application.
At present, the engineering samples of FM160-NA are available for product testing and development, which provides solution that help device OEMs and systems designers with their innovative new products, optimizing business operations and processes.
“Fibocom continues to popularize 5G across various industries with the 5G wireless module FM160-NA. The module significantly improves the performance of 5G in terms of network coverage, network flexibility and transmission rate, providing 5G wireless communication solutions to more end customers,” said Jason Zhu, General Manager of IoT Product Line, Fibocom.
